Dance Film SF presents
Move with Pride
A special streaming program in honor of Pride month
Dance Film SF invites you to celebrate queer joy, community, and the transformative power of dance from wherever you are in the world. Our limited-time streaming program pairs two extraordinary films: Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede, a feature documentary that honors a beloved chapter of LGBTQ+ history; and Intimité Révélée, a short film that dares to tenderly explore the nuances of queer love and intimacy.
About the Films
Feature Documentary: Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede
Director: Graham Clayton-Chance
(United Kingdom, 2025) 50 minutes
In November 2023, over 800 people from around the globe came to San Francisco for the final Sundance Stompede — the last chapter of a beloved LGBTQ+ country-western dance weekend that had been a cornerstone of queer culture for 27 years. Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede chronicles that historic farewell through the reflections of founder Ingu Yun and 15 participants, capturing the full arc of a community that grew from a small grassroots AIDS fundraiser in the early 1990s into a haven where queer individuals from diverse backgrounds united through dance, challenged gender norms, and found a home for nearly three decades.
Dance Film SF presented the world premiere of Last Dance at the Sundance Stompede in spring 2025. Over the past year, the film went on to screen at festivals around the world, earning the “Portrait of a Generation” Jury Prize from Choreoscope (Barcelona Dance Film Festival) and Best Documentary from the San Francisco Dance Film Festival. We’re thrilled to welcome it home for its online debut.
Short Film: Intimité Révélée
Director: Natasha Adorlee
Choreographers: Lorris Eichinger, Hope Mohr, Olivia Evans
(United States, 2024) 6:00
A tender statement that dares to explore and celebrate the nuances of queer love and intimacy, Intimité Révélée was created as part of SFDFF’s 2023 Co-Laboratory program in collaboration with Ballet22 and a creative team led by Artistic Director Lorris Eichinger, Director Natasha Adorlee, and Co-Choreographers Hope Mohr and Olivia Evans. The film features dancers Sunny Winn, Luella Nandra, Charmaine Butcher, Alaja Badalich (courtesy of AXIS Dance Company), D Calhoun (courtesy of AXIS Dance Company), and Liam Fleming.
“In a dance world that continues to operate in a binary way and driven by heteronormative stories, iconography, and esthetics, Intimité Révélée intends to show scenes of intimacy between queer couples through dance, to normalize what queer love could look like on stage and in dance film. This work provides representation for LGBTQIA+ community in dance film.”
–Choreographer Lorris Eichinger
