About the Film
This month’s Encore Shorts film stars Lil Buck, a world-renowned artist and entrepreneur best known for his Memphis Jookin’ dance style and forays into ballet. In Lil Buck with Icons of Modern Art, he takes us on a visit to the Shchukin collection at Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. Dancing to a music score by Euvgeni and Sasha Galperine with enthralling musicality, he glides through hallways and floats up escalators before duetting with artwork in the Matisse and Picasso rooms.
This film appeared at the 2018 San Francisco Dance Film Festival and was directed by London-based filmmaker Andrew Margetson.
