From the sprawling, ornate opera house to the streets of Paris and dreamlike visions, he dances through the struggles and triumphs of his past and begins to imagine his future. Halfway between documentary and dance fiction, the film looks at dance and dancers as a bearers of history and explores how dance lives through the body beyond the confines of an institution.
