Until the Moon is Born in the West

Together with dancers who have experienced war and flight, "Until the Moon is Born in the West" tells a refugee’s story, from the hopelessness of a destroyed home and the suffocating fear of being on the run to the confusions of hope and disorientation when arriving at a safe harbor.

Through dusty ruins, dreamlike underwater sequences, and pulsating street scenes, this film asks: What does the body experience in war and flight? What feelings move it to set out, and how does it react and change along the way? Can a person overcome the history of their body?
