Inspired by the Greek myth of Cassandra, who was able to foretell the future but was cursed to have no one believe her visions, “Magma” explores our relationship to truth, ignorance, and entropy in a time of global change and collective questioning. Told through an ominous, surreal lens, the one-take film version of “Magma” is produced by Inner Child Foundation in collaboration with Post:ballet and choreographed by Resident Choreographer Moscelyne ParkeHarrison. The film unfolds in one of San Francisco’s premier nightclub spaces, The Midway, bringing a historic myth into a contemporary context to reflect on our current state and potential path forward.
