Inspired by Robert Longo’s iconic “Men in the Cities” series, this visceral short film directed by Barbara Anastacio captures the devastating beauty of a body caught between collapse and resistance. Performed by Kristián Mensa the film explores urban malaise and the monotonous cycles of corporate life against New York’s stark landscapes. His body becomes a living canvas where the tension between falling and dancing creates spasmodic grace. Jon Batiste’s Symphony No. 5 Stomp provides the powerful soundtrack for “Man in the City,” enhancing the visual dialogue between stillness and motion, control and surrender that brings Longo’s frozen moments of modern alienation into dynamic, contemporary form.
