Pacifica
Shot in Pacifica, Calif., to the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, Pacifica is a short film of 8 dancers exploring community-centered movement, emotive expression, and the spiritual elements of dance.
Through this film, viewers watch as dancers embark on an exploration of intention-setting, connection and community set to the musings of a Tama Waipara cover sang by Emily McLean. Clad in a ceremony inspired silhouettes cut and sewn by designer Mira Blackman, from handwoven African Indigos dancers move in and around a beautiful hand-built beach estate on the California coast. Director Amanda Beane brings a moving cinematic experience that delves into the power of prayer and dance in shaping a world that works for everyone.
