2020 Embodiment Award Winner: YAK Films
In 2019 the SF Dance Film Festival introduced its first Embodiment award to acknowledge the achievements and influence of artists or organizations who have significantly contributed to the diverse, rich and interconnected community of dance and filmmaking. Through the medium of film, and fueled by social media platforms, the dance world has exploded onto the cultural landscape in ways that early Hollywood directors and Madison Avenue agencies couldn’t imagine.
SFDFF is pleased to give the 2020 Embodiment Award to YAK Films for their significant role in
bringing worldwide recognition and appreciation of street dance to the larger cultural
landscape.
