About “Lady Like”

The pages of RuPaul’s Drag Race queen Lady Camden’s fairytale story are filled with growth, discovery, and a true passion for performance in this imaginative, heartfelt documentary. A student of dance, Camden had performed ballet across many international stages before lip syncing on the Drag Race catwalk. Director Luke Willis’ documentary takes us on Camden’s journey adapting and excelling across these spaces, with Camden telling her own story of discovery, healing, acceptance, and joy along the way.

Born in the UK, Camden (aka Rex Wheeler) recounts a difficult childhood, and how ballet became a path to self-expression. As her professional career had its ups and downs, she journeyed to Northern California (Sacramento and San Francisco, specifically) where drag artistry became a new passion, eventually catapulting her to reality TV stardom on season 14 of the hit show… bringing along excitement, potential, and  scrutiny. Narrated by fellow Drag Race alum Nina West, Lady Like showcases Camden finding her chosen family, her voice, and confidence, proving that embracing one’s self and artistic core is an important step towards healing.
